The Clean Up – Since most exterior painting projects take more than one day to complete, we make certain to cleanup the area at the end of each work day as well as once the project is complete. This includes removing all paint chips and packing up and storing our materials away neatly.

Preparing the surface prior to painting your home will determine the end result. It is rarely the paint film itself that fails, but rather the adhesion of the pain to the surface below (often called “substrate” in painting ‘lingo’).

The reason that paint fails to adhere is because the surface to which it is applied is either dirty, wet or loose. So by making sure that your paint surface is clean, dry and free from grease, oils and flaking or loose paint, you will be giving primers and new coats of paint a good surface on which to bond. Painting the exterior of your house over a dirty or poorly prepared surface is like building a house on a bad foundation, which is never a good idea.
